George Russell said, “That’s how you do it,” as he crossed the line to win the Singapore Grand Prix.
He led from start to finish for Mercedes, flawless at Marina Bay, taking his second win of the season.
Behind him, chaos brewed at McLaren.
At the start, Lando Norris muscled past Oscar Piastri.
He banged wheels with his teammate through turn three, damaging his wing but holding position.
Piastri shouted on the radio, “Are we cool with Lando just barging me out of the way?”
He added, “That wasn’t very team-like, but sure.”
McLaren told him they would review it later.
Piastri snapped back, “That’s not fair. If he avoids another car by hitting me, that’s a bad job of avoiding.”
He was furious.
The Australian felt betrayed by a team that prided itself on fairness.
McLaren had previously forced Piastri to give a place back to Norris at Monza.
This time, he expected the same treatment.
But the team stayed silent.
When asked to discuss strategy, Piastri said coldly, “You do whatever you think is best.”
Norris defended his move: “Hard but fair racing,” he told reporters.
He took third behind Max Verstappen, while Piastri finished fourth.
The gap between them in the championship is now 22 points.
Russell stayed calm as Norris chased Verstappen but couldn’t pass.
The Briton took the flag five seconds clear, exorcising the ghost of his 2023 crash.
Kimi Antonelli finished fifth, Charles Leclerc sixth, and Lewis Hamilton seventh.
Fernando Alonso was eighth, Oliver Bearman ninth, and Carlos Sainz tenth.
Hamilton faces investigation for track-limit violations late in the race.
The podium was calm, but McLaren’s garage was not.
One fight was won — another had just begun.
