Residents reported hearing a “window-shattering sound” before seeing flames engulf multiple cars, according to NDTV. The Red Fort, once an imperial palace and now a major tourist site, stood behind the police barricades while investigators examined the scene. Police spokesperson Sanjay Tyagi confirmed casualties and said authorities are investigating the cause of the blast.
