Trump Targets De Niro After Actor Criticizes Presidency

De Niro Sounds Alarm on Trump’s Tenure

Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro has once again criticized Donald Trump, warning that the president “will never leave” office without action from voters. Speaking on MS NOW and at the counter-event State of the Swamp at the National Press Club, De Niro said he felt “betrayed by my country” and condemned what he described as a government run by “dishonest and greedy” leaders.

“He jokes now about nationalizing the elections. He’s not joking. We’ve seen enough already,” De Niro said, urging Americans to take responsibility in restoring the nation’s values and democracy.

Trump Fires Back With Social Media Rant

In response, Trump posted on his Truth Social platform, calling for critics including Representatives Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, as well as De Niro, to be deported — despite all being US citizens. The former president also compared De Niro unfavorably to Rosie O’Donnell, whom he had previously threatened with citizenship revocation, calling both “deranged” and accusing De Niro of actions that were “seriously criminal.”

    Polls Show Growing Public Concern

Recent polls indicate many Americans are concerned about Trump’s age and behavior in office. A Reuters/Ipsos survey found 61% of respondents consider Trump to have become erratic with age, including majorities of Democrats and independents. Additionally, 79% of Americans believe political leaders in Washington are too old to represent the population effectively — the average age in the Senate is 64 and 58 in the House.

Despite the criticism, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle dismissed these results as “fake and desperate narratives.” Another survey by Washington Post/ABC News/Ipsos found only 39% of Americans approve of Trump’s job performance, highlighting the ongoing divide in public opinion.
