Ceasefire Proposal Sent to Hamas
US Special Envoy Steven Witkoff reportedly sent the proposal to Hamas on Sunday. The deal allegedly promises US support for ending Israel’s military operations in exchange for the immediate release of all hostages. Israel would then release up to 3,000 Palestinian prisoners.
Hostages and Mounting Pressure
Reports suggest 48 hostages remain in Gaza, though only about 20 are believed alive. Trump previously issued a similar ultimatum in March. His latest message increases public pressure on Hamas to accept a deal that Washington argues could finally end the prolonged conflict.
